Ship modeling big time in Friedrichshafen

Spectators can look forward to various ship demonstrations on the water basin and the large exhibition lake.

In Hall A5, things will be really exciting again this year in the Ship modeling area!

The model demonstrations cover all areas of the beautiful hobby of Ship modeling.

Numerous model builders present their various scale replicas at the “Free sailing” program.
Among other things, small harbour service boats, modern passenger ships and container ships in motion can be seen.

A permanently installed and illuminated model harbor on the water basin demands everything from the Ship modelers.
Show how safely and skillfully you can steer your remote-controlled ship models through the harbor.

When the wind machines are fired up at the edge of the pool, it’s time again for exciting match races with modern sailing yachts.

IG Yacht Modellbau will also be there, presenting its luxury yachts on a small additional water basin,
which are modeled on the original down to the smallest detail.

And, of course, the popular duck pushing competition will take place again this year!
Participants try to push as many plastic bathing ducks as possible into the opponent’s goal with the popular Ramborator push boat models.
A wide variety of teams compete against each other. Often the participants have never steered a model ship before.
This ensures a high fun factor – both for the experienced model builders and the budding young captains.

Speaking of up-and-coming sailors: this year, future model ship builders can once again acquire the extremely popular helmsman’s license for model ships of all sizes free of charge directly on site at the exhibition basin
during the traditional children’s sailing event.

The Verlag für Technik und Handwerk (VTH) publishing house and the ModellWerft editorial team will once again be represented with their own stand in Hall A5.
Various specialist authors will be presenting their model ships known from the ModellWerft magazine.

Powerboats (electric and petrol-powered) and hovercrafts will be presented on the exhibition lake in the entrance area. This is also where the remote-controlled jet ski race takes place.
